How can I refuse to consider a Texas court's preference of joint?
How can I refuse to consider a Texas court's preference of joint custody and fight for sole in an already nasty and vindictive divorce and custody battle? My children would be put in the most dire of straits if not. Courts today seem to prefer joint custody and equal parenting time, but you dont have to. Just know that if you both dont agree to a plan then you will end up fighting about it in court and you may end up with something neither of you are happy with. If there is a safety issue, then that is a good reason to pursue something other than equal parenting time. Just now that in the early days, you will likely have to prove its an issue.
