If a husband was arrested for minor domestic violence 2 years ago,?
In Texas, the answer is no. Same answer if you reversed the genders, took away the domestic violence issue, or the information about high income. Texas in general does not do alimony. a spouse can get TEMPORARY spousal support under limited conditions, none of which are declared in your scenario: it must be a long standing marriage; I have forgotten How long, but ten years sounds familiar. The requesting spouse will have been out of the job market for that time, allowing currency in the job market to lag while supporting the family in other ways. Temp support is to provide a cushion while the requesting spouse gets her or his financial house in order. It is limited to a maximum of three years. Note: an accurate, dependable answer to this question will require an attorney current in family law for each of the states mentioned. I am NOT an attorney. My only credentials for this question come from research I did for preparing to respond without an attorney when my now-ex wife first filed for divorce in 2000 and 2005. It was at that time as accurate (for my own situation only) as a layman could make it. But that does not make it accurate for you, nor does it make it still current.
