Why do Texas courts favor the mom in divorces?

Lawyers would object to your question since it assumes facts not in evidence. I dont 100% disagree with the premise that courts favor mothers, but it really very much depends on the court. There are 9 family courts in Houston, Harris County, Texas and, all things being equal, fathers have a pretty good chance in probably 3 to 4 out of 9. Now people might disagree with my assessment but clearly in some courts the man is fighting an up hill battle. I think the reason that courts favor women is that women generally are the primary caregivers. Again, thats not a 100% rule but in most relationships it holds true. Still, there are relationships where care giving is split. Thats the problem with making generalizations, they only hold true part of the time. This is actually a reason to hire an experienced lawyer. An experienced lawyer knows the judge and their proclivities. They can give you an assessment of your case vis a vis a particular judge. Judges very much have different ways of looking at the world and a good case in one court is a loser in another.
