What happens if my ex refused to respond to my discovery request in?
This is a legal question and I only know an iota about family law. It will depend on your lawyer to handle this part of your divorce. Stalling only delays the process and cost you more money as your lawyer will be sending requests after requests for this information. You see everything the lawyers do cost money, they charge by the hour and they are bloodsuckers. Most lawyers will do things that are unnecessary just to make more money so be aware. When it comes time for the trial and your ex has not produced discovery the Judge will not favor his lawyer or him. If your lawyer is on the ball this should never happen. Your lawyer will make this happen in the preliminary part of the proceedings. Because you are the woman and the women most of the time come out ahead especially if a child(ren) is involved and, or you are not an alcoholic or drug addict, or prostitute and the other side can prove this you should fair well.
